Friday’s Ten Happy Things.21
Chair dancing as I type this entry because I’m listening to Lionel Richie’s “All Night Long”, one of my favourite songs! And then I followed it with some Alanis. I am Peyton Sawyering it up in here.
I don’t know how I’m going to describe how my first week of 2016 went. I did not make a mistake in writing down the year so … yay.
Why are you so petrified of silence? Here, can you handle this? Did you think about your bills, your ex, your deadlines, or when you think you’re gonna die? Or did you long for the next distraction???
Sorry, Alanis got to me.
1.) MORNING WALK TO TAHLIA / THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY BRUNCH. Drew and I walked to Tahlia at 9 in the morning and it was glorious. Can we post GIFs on WordPress? We can, right? Dammit. Next time I’m going to post a GIF of the view from the Overpass in Madinah Road. SUCH A BEAUT. Plus the weather that morning!!!
Once I order something the first time and it turns out to be , expect me to not want to try anything else. I get the Chicken Katsu from The Cheesecake Factory EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. Ask Maya and Drew – they know. Haha!
2.) TIM HORTON’S MERIENDA / AL BAIK DINNER. What else to expect from me, food makes me so happy. After a failed attempt to retrieve my parcel (sent by Lance) from the Post Office, we decided to have Merienda at Tim Horton’s in Mesaediyah. Then walked to Al Baik to get take-out for Dinner. It’s been nearly a year since we last had Al Baik. As residents of Jeddah, this is unusual behaviour.
This Sundried Tomato and Cheese Bagel is the SHIZZZZZZ
3.) BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS. Got me new books, which is very impractical considering the number of unread books I have by my bedside. Ironically, one of the books I got was Marie Kondo’s, which is not pictured because I have it handy in my bag. I need to read it, seriously. It would really help with #ProjectRummage. The latest ones I got this week are Lily King’s Euphoria, Chery Strayed’s Brave, Marie Kondo’s The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up and Ernest Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea (which I believe we tackled in English Lit back in College).
4.) WORKOUT WEEK. During the past 6 months, I’ve been working out religiously every week, which could also mean I only work out once on some weeks – which is terrible. But this week, I worked out 5 days (not consecutively, as I needed to recover), but 5 days, you guys!!! I am so pleased. I would upload a photo of my Booty but I should try to keep it classy. Maybe when I have a proper beach photo. Huehuehue.
5.) JFAM EP. The guys finally released one of their songs on the 1st. They plan to release one song per week (such teases), which I blogged about here.
6.) JUSTIN BIEBER + HAILEY BALDWIN + CARLY RAE JEPSEN. Not what you think it is, but this made me swooooooooon.
7.) PARCEL FROM LANCE. After 3 consecutive visits to the Post Office (and me saying buh-bye to the last few bills in my wallet, thanks to commuting), I finally got the parcel which had Lance’s gift : A DECENT MIC, which we will use for a project, and well, my feelingerang covers! I also got my really simple, no fuss, Le Petit Prince themed 2016 planner from Moleskine.
It’s so pretty!
8.) GRINGO’S VISIT TO THE VET. The Vet we used to go to closed down / moved so we took him to the vet in Tahlia, which had the best, kindest doctors. We were so proud of him because he behaved really well, and didn’t even cry while getting his shots / meds.
9.) PURPLE. And then, of course
I feel a nap coming so I’ll probably end this now. Alright, I just yawned for the nth time. That’s it. As usual, you know what I say whenever I end up sleepy after typing an entry – if there are grammatical errors or whatever, I’ll probably edit later.
And of course, don’t forget to leave your THT Links over at my Wifey, Helga’s blog (who originally came up with this very, super, extremely helpful weekender ritual). Let’s focus on what placed that stupid smile on our faces. Even the smallest, simplest ones, because they’re the ones that count. Click on this pretty button!
I’MA COMIN’ FOR YA HYPNOS. Happy Weekend, Kids!!!
