I’m no stranger to Arab / Arabic music + songs. In fact, there are a few artists I’ve come to love, songs I know all the words to, regardless of whether I understand what they’re singing about or not, they still hit me where it hurts most (as they are supposed to). There is no such thing as a “Language Barrier” when it comes to music.

Growing up in the Middle East, I didn’t know much about local artists who cater to both English and Non-English speaking Jeddah folk, until I met Jeddah Fam sometime in 2010 during an event. And of course, once your ears are blessed with the voices of these guys – trust me, it will be pretty hard getting them off of your head.

Jeddah Fam was formed in 2008 by Ali Bash, Ayzee (X Factor 2015 Grand Winner – Middle East), Balla Skillz, Black Drama, Dr. Zee, Timba and MH.

They will be releasing their second EP on the 1st of January 2016, titled LESSONS IN LOVE with new songs such as “Platinum Girl” and  “Tonight“.  And I say, what a way to welcome the year.

I’m so excited! 

Of course, they can’t not tease us with a little behind-the-scenes.

I mean, C’MON.

I wish I didn’t have to wait until the 1st before I get my hands on the EP. Lol. Most of their already released songs are available on their Soundcloud page, HERE.

Oh and, since we’re on the subject – thought I’d share my favourite cover of Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home”, by Ayzee and Timba! I remember when I first heard this last year, I listened to it for a full week, no exaggeration.
