My Favourite Things : Birth Month Edition (June 2016)
Joined another fun link-up! This one’s by Raisa and Eirene (discovered through Helga, of course) called My Favourite Things, where we share a limitless number of thangs that struck our fancy (and got us out of our depression holes, self-destructive holes, self-loathing holes, et al), and is usually submitted / published every first Tuesday of the Month, which is awesome because Tuesday is my favourite day! Yay!
And since JUNE is my most favourite month of the Year, making this a bit more special because I’m including every single special June memory (apart from the usual stuff)!
Might contain potential Orange is the New Black and Game of Thrones spoilers.
Here they are :
1.) RIDE WITH NORMAN REEDUS.
It’s a show that has Norman Reedus riding around in a Motorcycle. If you’re not sold, I don’t know what will. And my love for him grows deeper, and deeper, and deeper. It’s also an interesting peek into the lives of Riders — most oftenly stereotyped as bad asses but in a sense that is not in any way benefiting any of us.
Oh my god, I could not love Ellen Page any more, or so I thought before watching this four part Docu-series, exploring the LGBT communities in different countries. Not a shocker to find out how things are around the World, but at the same time, what’s new, right? Something all the haters and antis should watch too, because something in the third episode made my stomach churn, and if they don’t find anything appalling about that, then they aren’t human.
3.) ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK (SEASON 4).
EPISODE 12 and 13 ANYONE? I sat in silence, in complete shock at the end of Episode 12, basically drowning my room in saltwater.
4.) ANOTHER PERIOD.
Not to mention the fact that Riki Lindhome (one of the writers and stars) favourited my tweet about how amped I was that Season 2 began airing. GAH. I love this show so much.
5.) GAME OF THRONES’ BATTLE OF THE BASTARDS (S06E09) & WINDS OF WINTER (S06E10).
Because, seven hells — how can you not? The moment that Rickon did not run in a Zig-Zag I was already in tears. From that moment on I was just crying and crying, especially after Wun Wun … my darling Wun Wun!
6.) MY NEW PHONE.
My 1.5 year old iPhone 6 gave up on me and I couldn’t, just couldn’t without a proper phone. Drew ended up gifting me with a Rose Gold 6s that we got from iZone the next day because he is the best, and because Blush Pink is starting to really, really, really grow on me, and is now my favourite color (as you can see from this post’s Featured Image). Make the Blush Pink emoji happen, Emoji People.
7.) LUMEE CASE.
Kind of bummed they didn’t have it in Rose Gold so I don’t really use it, I whip it out though when I need good lighting for — you guessed it : taking photos of plants. LELZ.

8.) KYLIE LIP KITS.
CANNOT WAIT TO MAKE MY REVIEW OF THESE BABIES!!!! So far I have Candy K, Exposed and Heir. Looking forward to getting Posie K, Mary Jo K and Literally. While typing this entry, I managed to squeeze a little out of Drew’s wallet to get myself Koko K because the first one I got at a Bazaar I recently went to, was apparently FAKE. More on that when I publish my review on the Lip Kits!

9.) JOSÉ EBER CERAMIC CURLING WAND.
I burned my shoulder and arm the first time I used it but totally worth it because OMG, I could finally have the semi-done, beach hair wavy look I’ve always wanted. Ha! Will publish a review on this too.

10.) MAC HIGHLIGHTER.
My first ever highlighter and I now COULD NOT live without it. On some days, I ditch the foundation or BB Cream and just end up applying highlighter after my blush or cheek tint.

11.) NBA FINALS.
Where we’d stream the Semis at our own homes and ended up watching half of the Finals at Suffey’s house. So much fun — even that time when we lost to the Cavs. Hahahuhu I still love you, Steph. Always and forever.
12.) MAYA’S LAW SCHOOL GRADUATION.
My soulmate Maya (who, as you’re aware, I’ve known since I was 11) graduated from Law School in June and we all could not be more prouder. I’m sure she’d still do superawesome things after this. I love her so much. Here’s a photo of her with Tita Mama and Angge, someone who means as much to me as much to her because God knows how important it is to have a very strong and safe support system — and I am thankful that He has blessed Maya with people like Angge
13.) THESE ANGELS.
Ayah (also my Soulmate, and someone who has also been in my life since I was 11) spent a few weeks in Jeddah and I had the chance to hang out with our baby angels again. Look at those faces, you guys — I’ve been hugging and kissing them non-stop.
14.) MY VERY LOW KEY BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION.
Apart from the fact that I have deactivated my Facebook (or so I thought, found out it was automatically reactivated, but then my Birthday kemerloo was disabled, and so was my wall?), I was not appalled by the lack of Birthday Greetings that came pouring to me this year, instead, appreciated the ones who remembered, and even the ones who didn’t. I mentioned in one of my previous posts that Birthdays are no longer a big deal to me, and if I were to celebrate, I would really, honestly — prefer a quiet dinner, like any other. I really loved that Nof came up with a simple surprise with Chris for my Birthday at midnight (with PIZZA, and a cake from Munch! OMG she knows me too well), and then ended up having Thai for dinner later that day with Drew, Jayson and Omar, with Jayson treating me to a slice of Cake in Starbucks (and if you know Jayson, him treating anyone is a big deal, lelz)! I was such a happy clam, it was just as how I wanted it to be.
My favorite Emirati Make-up Guru Hamda (OMG, do check her IG page) ignited my long forgotten Lush addiction. Needless to say, I have robbed Drew to raid Lush.
16.) UPCOMING JEDDAH DESIGNERS.
I feel very blessed indeed to have been asked to model for these upcoming designers in Jeddah who I will be featuring here soon! Watch out for that! I’ve linked their Instagram accounts if you fancy checking them out.
17.) RENGAR AND KHA’ZIX.
Not gonna lie — most of my days now consists of two things : Sleeping and playing League of Legends. I’m loving Shyvanna now, but for the most part of June, I have been using these two champs.
If you know me, you know how much I love Paul and TWG and Ladurée and Pink Camel. Basically any store that has yummy Macarons, ha. Recently we’ve been hanging out at Paul a lot again, which probably explains why we are now trying to save as much money as we can (a.k.a. “maybe we shouldn’t leave the house, yeah?”) because of the many, many nights spent at Tahlia.
19.) THESE GUYS.
Very grateful for this group of people (and a few more others not in these photos). I have such a small circle of friends and they are people I will truly treasure forever, regardless of the number of times they have gotten on my nerves. Haha.
20.) ME BEFORE YOU.
I’ve read the book but still ended up unprepared for what was to come. June made my tear ducts work overtime.
And there you have it!!! I do encourage you to try this out, too! Make sure you head on over Raisa and Eirene‘s Blogs to check out their favourite things, link your Favourite Things entry, and read on the other submissions while you’re at it. It’s such a pick-me-upper, going through entries like these. There are so many inspiring people to come across.
I bet you’re itching to click on this pretty button (and you should!) :
